Davide Shorty Performs "Fuorigioco" Live on GROOVE Sessions

Italian singer, rapper and producer Davide Shorty performs "Fuorigioco" live on GROOVE Sessions, the live performance series directed, filmed and finished in-house by GROOVE Media in Budapest. The song comes from his 2025 album Nuova forma, and the session places it in a single room with the focus entirely on the performance, a natural setting for an artist whose music moves between soul, hip-hop and jazz.

About "Fuorigioco"

"Fuorigioco" is the Italian word for offside, and Shorty uses the image as a metaphor. In a 2025 interview with Sky TG24, he tied the song to impostor syndrome, comparing it to scoring a goal only to have it ruled out. Italian critics heard the same unease. Mescalina described a song about alienation, sung by a narrator who always feels out of place and out of focus, while SentireAscoltare called it spare, soft neo-soul with one of the most enjoyable choruses on the album.

The track is the eighth song on Nuova forma, released on February 28, 2025 through ADA Music Italy. Shorty produced the album entirely on his own. After a 2023 fire forced him out of his room and studio in London, he returned to Palermo and built a new home studio by the sea, where the record took shape. Guests include Daniele Silvestri, Serena Brancale, Ainé, Casadilego and Giò Sada.

The Session

GROOVE Sessions is built on a simple format: one artist, one song, one room. GROOVE Media handles direction, camera work and post-production internally, finishing each episode in DaVinci Resolve, so every performance is presented with the same care. For "Fuorigioco," that restraint keeps the attention on Shorty's voice and phrasing rather than on studio polish.
