HAUSER Releases "Christmas," His First-Ever Holiday Album

HAUSER releases Christmas, his first holiday album, on Sony Music Masterworks: 14 classics for cello, orchestra and choir, with films shot in Croatia.

HAUSER Releases "Christmas," His First-Ever Holiday Album

Croatian cellist HAUSER released Christmas, his first-ever holiday album, on October 27, 2023, via Sony Music Masterworks. The album sets 14 beloved carols and seasonal standards for solo cello with orchestra and choir, and it arrived with "Christmas Part I," the first chapter of a holiday film shot in Croatia, Sony Music Masterworks announced.

A Romantic, Cinematic Holiday Record

HAUSER has said he wanted Christmas to sound like classical music with a romantic, Hollywood sweep, and he calls it his "ultimate Christmas album." He sees instrumental music as universal: hearing these songs on the cello lets people enjoy them in a new way, whether the record is playing in the background while they decorate the tree or open presents.

It is the first installment of a planned 40-minute Christmas film. The album's lead single, "Amazing Grace," was filmed at the French Pavilion in Croatia.

On Tour in Europe and the U.S.

The release landed as HAUSER's 2023 European tour opened in Prague on October 27, with dates in Berlin, London, Paris and Amsterdam on the way to a November 18 finale in Ataşehir, Turkey. On the same day, HAUSER put tickets on sale for his first-ever solo U.S. tour, which opened May 31, 2024, at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, and included Carnegie Hall in New York, the Ravinia Festival outside Chicago, the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles before closing June 29, 2024, at the Fox Theater in Oakland.

The Deluxe Edition

For the 2024 holiday season, HAUSER expanded Christmas into a deluxe edition with seven newly arranged classics, including "What Child Is This?," "Ave Verum Corpus," "In the Bleak Midwinter," "Candlelight Carol," "Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence" and "Hallelujah," and released a video for Mozart's "Ave Verum" in December 2024, according to Shore Fire Media. That season, PBS stations also premiered Classic Gala Concert Live at The Royal Albert Hall, the concert behind HAUSER's album Classic II.

GROOVE Media and HAUSER

Christmas was released during GROOVE Media's work with HAUSER. From 2022 to 2025, GROOVE Media founder Afsheen Khosraviani ran social media for HAUSER, managing the official HAUSER accounts on every platform as well as the HAUSER Music Foundation accounts. In 2022 Khosraviani also launched the HAUSER Shorts YouTube channel from zero; it has since reached 148,000 subscribers and 16.3 million lifetime views. During that period HAUSER's TikTok grew from zero to 1.4 million followers and his Instagram climbed from 1.8 million to 4.1 million followers in under two years.
