About "Soul Tied"

"Soul Tied" pairs JAAD's verses with Kállay Saunders' soul vocal on the chorus, moving JAAD from the drill sound he built his name on toward melodic, late-night R&B. The release traces the song back to JAAD's "D-Rap" collaborations, his name for a genre-blending, drill-rooted style. "This song marks a real turning point for my sound," JAAD said, adding that working with Kállay brought the vocal soul the record needed to feel complete.

The single runs just under three minutes and is credited to both artists on streaming services. On YouTube, the release is supported by the official music video and a visualizer. The collaboration links two very different scenes: Scottish drill on one side and the soul and R&B that Kállay has built his career on since moving to Hungary on the other.

Who Is JAAD?

JAAD is a rapper from Edinburgh, Scotland, who proudly represents his hometown and whose drill records have drawn attention in the Scottish rap scene. His track "Nothing to Say" helped introduce him as a distinctive new voice, and his single "SORRY" earned a placement on GRM Daily, the UK rap platform, a release that raised his profile as one of Scotland's drill artists to watch. "Soul Tied" shows a more melodic and personal side of his writing.

Who Is Kállay Saunders?

András Kállay-Saunders, known as Kállay Saunders, was born in New York City in 1985 to Hungarian model Katalin Kállay and American musician Fernando Saunders. He moved to Hungary in 2010 and reached national audiences on Megasztár. In 2014 he represented Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen with "Running," finishing fifth with 143 points, the country's second-best Eurovision result after its fourth-place debut in 1994. After Eurovision he founded the Kállay-Saunders Band, and his 2015 debut album Delivery Boy was nominated for the IMPALA Album of the Year Award. His Hungarian Top 40 hits include "Csak Veled" and "I Love You." "Soul Tied" follows his recent solo singles "Wild Horses" and "take me back home" from the another night era.
