Kállay Saunders Unveils "YOU" Music Video Ahead of "another night"

American-Hungarian singer-songwriter Kállay Saunders released his new single "YOU" on October 24, 2025, accompanied by an official music video. Written in Athens and rooted in soul, country and blues, the song is a forerunner to his forthcoming album, another night. Kállay Saunders works with GROOVE Media as his exclusive manager and content partner.

Written in Athens

"YOU" took shape during a studio session in Athens with Greek singer, songwriter and producer Claydee and producer Paris Kalpos, collaborators Kállay had created with before. The spark came when Claydee's son, David Lupa, walked into the studio, picked up a guitar and started playing while Kállay improvised over it. Within minutes, the team knew they had something special. Kállay's longtime writing partner anatu also co-wrote and co-produced the track.

About the Song

Kállay describes the sound as "a powerful fusion of soul, country, and blues," built on country-leaning guitar and big, cinematic drums with a Western edge. Lyrically, "YOU" looks back on a relationship that ended in betrayal, telling the story of someone who gave everything and was let down. For Kállay, the song works as closure: the final chapter of a painful breakup.

The Music Video

The official music video grew out of Kállay's original concept and was directed by Leho Daniel, with cinematography by Csaba Horváth (Csirke). Rather than following a traditional narrative, it plays as an image film with a minimal storyline, mixing stylized, fashion-forward visuals with everyday moments to capture the painful and beautiful memories of a past relationship. The Western mood of the song carries through to the look of the film.

The Road to another night

"YOU" leads into Kállay's forthcoming album, which he frames as a record about heartbreak and recovery:

"another night is an album deeply rooted in heartbreak and struggle, but its true message is about learning to find purpose again."

The album is tied to the 15 Years Kállay Saunders Tour, planned to open in Hungary in early 2026 before moving on to international dates.

On the Radio, From Budapest to Athens and Beyond

"YOU" went into heavy rotation on Hungarian radio and found an early audience in Greece, where it was written: within weeks of release, Kállay said the song was already being played there, and the Greek daily Proto Thema later interviewed him about writing the single in Athens.

Almost a year after release, the song is still spreading. Over a single three-day window, a Syndicast airplay report logged "YOU" on 29 radio stations in 20 countries, from Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom to Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria and Lithuania, with further spins as far away as South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Latin America.
